Why Donate
Desert Ink Press, a project of Books for Classrooms, needs your support to continue publishing high-quality, multicultural, bilingual books that celebrate the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the Southwest.
Our books offer in-depth explorations of traditional knowledge and cultural insights. Rooted in authentic teachings, they provide expert guidance designed to deepen understanding and foster meaningful connections with heritage. They are ideal for anyone committed to preserving and honoring ancestral wisdom.
Your purchase makes a difference. Proceeds from Desert Ink Press sales help fund Books for Classrooms programs, which provide free books to low-income PreK–12 students in Pima County.
Founded in 2019 after the Arizona Teachers Strike, Books for Classrooms is a 100% volunteer-run organization. We raise funds to deliver, at no cost, educator-vetted, diverse, high-quality, age-appropriate books directly to classrooms and school libraries in K–12 Title I public schools across Pima County. We also provide free small libraries to community agencies focused on education.
To date, we have delivered more than 70,000 books because we believe every child should see themselves reflected in the books they read.
