Shipping policy

Welcome to Desert Ink Press! We appreciate your support of our independent, non-profit press. This Shipping Policy explains how we process and ship orders from our online store.

1. Order Processing Time

  • Most orders are processed within 2–4 business days of receipt.
  • Processing does not include weekends or major U.S. holidays.
  • If we’re experiencing a high volume of orders, processing may take a little longer; we’ll notify you via email if there’s a significant delay.
  • For preorders, we will notify you that we have received your order and then send an email when we get inventory of the preorder items you have bought.

2. Shipping Methods & Carriers

  • We use trusted carriers such as USPS and UPS to deliver orders.
  • Shipping options may include:
    • USPS Media Mail (for books): economical choice
    • USPS First-Class or Priority Mail
    • UPS Ground (for faster delivery or heavier items)
  • Shipping rates for each method are calculated at checkout, based on package weight and destination.

3. Shipping Rates & Delivery Estimates

* These are estimates. Actual delivery times may vary due to carrier delays, weather, or other factors.

4. Shipping Destinations

  • We currently ship to locations within the United States.
  • At this time, we do not offer international shipping.
  • We do ship to PO Boxes, APO, and FPO addresses via USPS, when available.

5. Order Tracking

  • Once your order ships, we will send a confirmation email with tracking information (if available).
  • You can use that tracking number to monitor your package’s progress.

6. Damages, Loss, or Missing Items

  • Please inspect your order upon delivery.
  • If your package arrives damaged, or you believe an item is missing, contact us within 7 days of delivery. Include your order number and photos (if possible), and we’ll work to resolve the issue.

7. Shipping Policy Changes

  • Desert Ink Press reserves the right to change this Shipping Policy at any time.
  • Any changes will be reflected here, and the “Last updated” date will be updated.
